Extended Abstract
This report serves as a technical documentation of the parallel message passing system
MePS version 5.1, developed at the Institute Technische Informatik I at the Technical Uni­
versity of Hamburg­Harburg. The second part of the document serves as a programmers
reverence.
MePS 5.1 was developed to be used on transputer networks. Version 5.1 of MePS can be
used on any network where all cycles are contained in a de Bruijn subgraph. Eg. de Bruijn
graphs extended by trees attached to the four spare edges or arbitrary trees are possible. It
is no longer mandatory to use plain de Bruijn networks, as it has been with previos versions.
