A Letter from the Associate Dean
Dear Friend of McIntire:
On behalf of the McIntire School of Commerce, I am happy to share the 2011 Destinations Report, which
is once again based on a 100% response rate. Despite another challenging recruiting year, our outstanding
graduates have once again proved their marketability, with over 90% of our graduating students reporting
by Aug. 15 that they have a first destination.
With the support of our corporate sponsors and alumni, Commerce students are prepared to add value
immediately after leaving Grounds.Through corporate sponsorship of the Integrated Core Experience,
the School's cutting-edge third-year curriculum, students are
challenged to tackle real-world business problems and hone
their critical thinking and presentation skills. Alumni and other
seasoned professionals frequently visit the classroom to share their
experiences, judge presentations, and provide valuable feedback
and networking opportunities, complementing our superb faculty
teaching.
The McIntire School also continues to emphasize a more diverse,
global view of commerce, broadening hiring opportunities for our
students. Undergraduates can select from more than 20 different
