We report on an adaption of
the empirics of industrial age coal briquetting
(for maximum trucking efficiency)[1], to the10
design of model molecular glassformers.
Already in the study of packing of hard particles
it has been found that ellipsoids of certain aspect
ratios can pack with efficiencies approaching
those of ordered packing[2]. We have examined15
the van-der Waals equivalent in which the
system has independent temperature and
