Abstract-Most embedded systemshave tightconstraints
on power consumption because the amonnt of power
available to these systems is limited due to the limita-
tion ofbattery life. For this reason energy consumption
isan importantparameterin evaluatingperformance of
embeddedsystems.DPM (dynamicpower management)
hasgainedconsiderableattentionover the last few years
as a way to save energy in device that can be turned on
and off by operating system control.Scheduling is very
importantfor DPM since it directlyaffects the efficiency
of DPM. \Ye haveimplementeda Genetic Algorithmcus-
tomised generates a near-optimal device schedule for a
