Dr. Anne Preston Student Services Adviser,

Summary: Dr. Anne Preston
Student Services Adviser,
University of Southampton
School of Humanities
- Modern Languages
Alumnus Profile
Dr Anne Preston has combined her passion for languages with an
interest in education throughout her studies and career so far: "I've been
fortunate, I've had the chance to do plenty of interesting things over the
last few years and I'm looking forward to finding out what will happen in
my life in the future."
During her undergraduate degree in English and French at Salford, Anne
seized opportunities to spend time teaching abroad; a year in Montreal
and two years in Mulhouse in eastern France. "I enjoyed my time in
schools but found myself missing my studies so decided I wanted to
return to academia when I got home," she explains.
Anne, from Manchester, signed up for a master's in Applied Linguistics
with Research Methods at Southampton to build on her knowledge of
education and explore further the teaching of modern languages.
Funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) enabled
