Vol. 14 :: February 2008
The last day to drop a spring 2008 course with a grade of "W" is Tuesday, April 1, 2008 before
7:00 p.m. Students cannot drop online through Self-Service; they must use the official drop
form and obtain their instructor's signature (see below).
Please note that for undergraduate students**, the policy limiting students to 6 "W"'s is in
effect. Graduate and Professional Students and Post-Baccalaureate students must also adhere
to this procedure and deadline; however the limit of 6 "W"'s does not apply to them.
Steps to drop a course:
1. Pick up a drop form at the Welcome Center's Registration and Academic Records customer
service desk or from your Department (one form per course).
2. Get the signature from the instructor of the course (do this well before the deadline, as no
drops will be accepted after the deadline).
3. Turn the signed form in to the Welcome Center's Registration and Academic Records
customer service desk by Tuesday, April 1, before 7:00 p.m.
4. Continue to attend the class until the drop has been approved and entered, and the W
grade is visible in Self Service. Undergraduates who have exceeded 6 drops must complete
all courses.
** For more information on the policy on dropping courses including the 6 "W" guidelines, visit
