Re: Research and the Strategic Planning Facilitation
There is no single item that makes a university truly outstanding
and superior to its peers. It is usually an aggregation of many
factors, such as quality teaching at both the undergraduate and
graduate levels, the quality of the research and scholarship, the
reputation of the faculty, the performance of a particular varsity
sports team, and even the quality of the campus pub and its
various eateries. These measures, however, must be sustained at a
high level over a period of time.
I respectfully present this brief because the University of Regina is
not achieving its fullest potential. I believe that research, creativity
activities and scholarship are fundamental to building the reputation
of our university.
