New Academic Gold and Silver
Scholarship/Prize Programs
~ effective June 2011
Academic Gold Scholarship/Prize: Awarded to the top 1% of students in each Faculty who have
achieved a minimum sessional GPA of 85% during the prior academic year (summer, fall, winter) and
completed a minimum of 24 credits during that same time period. To receive the scholarships, students
must be continuing as an undergraduate student. Only grades from University of Regina courses will be
used in the sessional GPA calculation. Recipients of the Academic Gold Scholarship are not eligible for
the Academic Silver Scholarship.
Academic Silver Scholarship/Prize: Awarded to continuing University of Regina undergraduate
students who have achieved a minimum sessional GPA of 85% during the prior academic year (summer,
fall, winter) and completed a minimum of 6 credit hours during the same time period. To receive the
scholarship, students must be continuing as an undergraduate student. Only grades from University of
Regina courses will be used in the sessional GPA calculation. Recipients of the Academic Gold
scholarship are not eligible to receive an Academic Silver Scholarship.
Number of awards: Variable, based on the number of students eligible.
Award value: Variable, based on the funds available.
SAFA will determine and notify eligible recipients annually in June.
