Research Experience
Summer 2000 - NSF-REU with Jack DiTullio at Grice Marine Laboratory
(Charleston, SC). Effects of light and nutrient limitation of phytoplankton
pigment composition.
October 2000-May 2002 - Biological Research Assistant with J. Carl Barrett at
the National Cancer Institute (Research Triangle Park, NC). Possible role of DNA
methylation in the deviation of leiomyoma uterine tumor cells from normal
smooth muscle myometrial cells.
September 2002-present - Doctoral Research with Lihini Aluwihare at SIO (La
Jolla, CA). Metabolic capabilities of prokaryotes in the deep ocean.
