To periodically award individuals, who have given
generously of their time and talent to the School of Engineering
and Applied Science, and/or the University of Virginia
Engineering Foundation.

There are those around us that we work with that exude
kindness; they are sincere, personable, and above all they
genuinely care about others. Yes they have significant
workloads and responsibilities.....but somehow this
doesn't get the way of their supporting and caring
manner.
Frances Hersey epitomizes this behavior and the people
that wrote about her to the awards committee, whether
they work for her, with her, or are her superiors all have
the same thing to say.....and I paraphrase, "the
