This is to invite you to a topical lunch, sponsored by the Atkinson Center for a
Sustainable Future, to discover a new India - US partnership: a Field Learning Center
in the Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve in the Western Ghats of South India. The approach
would be multidisciplinary and the mantra isthinkingdifferently--within and out of the box-
-using arts, sciences, research and native wisdom and folklore.
Keystone Foundation is a small NGO with big ideas. We have been working with
indigenous hill communities since 1995, and have grown from a team of 3 to 50 persons
that includes Adivasis (members of aboriginal populations in India). Keystone is field-
based and has been implementing projects in 89 villages in the Biosphere Reserve on:
* Beekeeping & Honey Gathering
* Traditional Agriculture & Food Security
* Shelter & Basic Needs
* Biodiversity & Conservation
* Water & Wetlands
* Enterprise Development
* Environmental Governance
