Director's Message
The Center for Nanophysics and Advanced Materials (CNAM) was established on July 1,
2007. It unifies the former Center for Superconductivity Research and Condensed Matter
Physics groups into a single cohesive research entity covering all of condensed matter
physics, nanoscience, and related technologies. CNAM brings essential resources to an
important and vibrant field of physics research, and is a catalyst for enhancing the
Physics department at the University of Maryland.
