Summary: News & Notes November 19, 2007
Robert Bates and thirteen UH organ
students visited Dallas on November 13 to
play and study organs built in a variety of
styles. This included a large instrument at
University Park Methodist Church, built in
the French classical style of ca. 1750, and a
small organ at the Meadows Museum of
Fine Arts on the Southern Methodist
University campus, built in Portugal in
1760.
Paul Sikes, DMA Music Education
candidate, will present a paper entitled
"Practice Strategies Advocated by
Secondary Music Teachers" at the 61st
MENC National Biennial In-Service
Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
