Transcripts for ABET
The five departments participating in the interim report/visit need to send one graduate's official original transcript
from the spring 2008 graduating class to Janice before January 5th. The transcripts will be mailed to ABET along
with the Request for Evaluation form.
Interim Reports
Discussed AA's and Bioengineering's interim report outlines. An un-named member of the Engineering
Accreditation Commission (EAC) who was not associated with the General Review will read the interim reports.
Because CEE will have an interim visit, Tim will ask Carl Locke if items in addition to those identified in ABET's
Final Statement might be brought up. CEE wants to work with CELT to structure a matrix to map outcome to
performance criteria. Jim is happy to read and help with all of the interim reports.
The participating departments should give their final interim report to Janice by June 22 for mailing to ABET.
REESE: A Direct Method for Developing and Measuring ABET Professional Skills
This project proposes to expand, study and refine a method for developing and measuring ABET professional skills
called the "curricular debrief". WSU and the University of Idaho are involved in this research. If the grant is
funded, WSU would like to share the process with the UW. This could be useful for the ABET accreditation in
2013.
