Dual Degree in Mechanical Engineering Program Quick Facts
Thank you for your recent interest in applying for a dual-degree in the Mechanical Engineering (ME) Master's Graduate Program. We invite
you to take a close look at our Department, where you will find some of the top master's and doctoral students in the country preparing for
rewarding positions in higher education and industry. Our graduate program is consistently ranked in the top five in the nation. ME is a
graduate program on the move. During the past five years, we've added many new faculty members, nearly tripled our research funding, and
strengthened our partnerships with government and industry. Our interdisciplinary approach to research and learning strikes a unique balance
of challenging course work, trend-setting research, and real-life application.
Application Instructions
Please complete the Rackham Application for a Dual-Degree, available at:
and submit it to our office along with the following documents:
A revised Statement of Purpose.
Please request your department to forward a copy of your current application file to us which must contain at least two letters of
recommendation. If you wish, you may submit new letters of recommendation from faculty in your current program.
In addition, the following Dual Degree Election Form must also be completed, signed by your current Department Program Chair or
designee, and submitted to our office:
