Summary: News & Notes March 24, 2008
Aaron Lington's (BM, 98-Music Education - studio
of Karen Wylie) composition, Open Evidence for
jazz quintet and wind ensemble, premiered on March
13th
at the Sacramento Convention Center as part of
the California Music Educators Association State
Conference. This piece was commissioned by
Timothy Harris and the Chabot College Wind
Symphony and will be performed again at Chabot
College on May 7th
.
The Utah Symphony will premiere a new string
orchestra version of Marcus Karl Maroney's Three
Pieces for String Quartet on their 2008-9
subscription series. The work will be conducted by
the orchestra's assistant conductor David Cho in
April 2009.
