Summary: William L. Bolster
Bill Bolster is the retired Chairman and CEO of
CNBC International. In this position, he was
responsible for driving the expansion of the CNBC
franchise overseas and leading all international
efforts for CNBC. Prior to assuming this role, Bolster
was the Chairman and CEO of CNBC.
Bolster joined the network as President in January
1996, and led the company to become the
undisputed global leader in business news and
information. During his tenure, CNBC achieved
significant ratings gains for all its Business Day
programs as well as substantial increases in CNBC revenues and profits. In
2000, he was named Cable Broadcasting Executive of The Year by the Delaney
Prior to his work with CNBC, he served for five years as President and General
Manager of WNBC-TV, NBC's owned and operated flagship television station in
New York City. During his tenure, the station dramatically increased its ratings
and financial performance, going from number three in New York to number one.
Mr. Bolster is credited with strengthening news operations, sales and marketing.
