Abstract
In this paper a reconstruction of 3D points from
image sequences taken with four typical strate
gies (lateral, back/forward movement, pan, and
circumnavigation) of camera movement is imple
mented and evaluated. Firstly these four typical
strategies are reviewed and analyzed under a 1D
camera model. Under these configurations the
reconstruction of the coordinates in a world co
ordinate system is investigated from two frames.
Reconstruction is simulated to compare the four
strategies. Four real image sequences are shot
with these strategies to a cube with known struc
ture of points. From these sequences the motion
trajectories of camera are estimated, and the 3D
