Summary: Jerre L. Stead
Jerre L. Stead became executive chairman of IHS
Inc. on December 1, 2000. He led IHS to a very
successfully IPO in November of 2005. IHS is a
global industry leader in its industry. He currently
serves as chairman and CEO.
Stead retired as chairman and chief executive
officer of Ingram Micro in May 2000. He joined
Ingram Micro in 1996 with a proven track record
and is characterized as having great vision and
global expertise. Stead took Ingram Micro public
on Nov. 1, 1996. Ingram Micro grew from $8 billion
to a global $30 billion company under his
leadership doing business in more than 120 countries. The company was #41 in
the Fortune 500 for the year 2000.
He began his career in 1965 at Honeywell Inc., where he spent 21 years and
held a number of executive management positions in the U.S. and Europe. Stead
was the chairman and chief executive officer of Honeywell-Phillips Medical
Electronics from September 1980 until June 1982. He returned to the United
States as a group executive of the homes and buildings organizations in July
