On September 19, 2004, MSM doctoral organ student
Riyehee Hong played the dedication of the new
Beckerath organ at the Episcopal Cathedral Center of
St. Paul in Los Angeles. As part of the "Organ
Evensong" that provided the format for the occasion,
David Ashley White's Preces & Responses for SATB
a cappella was also included, sung by the Cathedral
Choir.
Over the summer, Dr. White's music was performed a
number of times in various locations around the
country and abroad. Paul Skevington and the
Washington Brass Quintet, in a June concert in
Washington, D.C., played his Triptych for organ and
brass quintet. These musicians have also recorded the
piece for an upcoming CD. The work's last movement,
"Hymn," was included in a recital that Alison
Luedecke and members of the Millennia Consort
