Summary: EPSY doctoral students compete successfully for national student research travel awards
As a review of the 2010 EPSY Annual Report reveals (link is on the EPSY home page), an
impressive number of EPSY doctoral students have had presentations accepted at competitive,
peer-reviewed national professional meetings during 2009 and 2010. These presentations reflect
the scholarly quality of the work produced by our students. As further testament to our students'
increasing national visibility and impact, we have noted a dramatic increase in the number of
nationally competitive travel grants awarded to EPSY students as well, and especially in 2009
and 2010. The chart below recognizes the EPSY students who have won competitive travel
awards over the last few years. These awards, totaling $2, 805, recognize outstanding and
innovative work in the fields of Counseling, Educational and School Psychology. Clearly,
University of Houston EPSY graduate students are The Pride!
