Summary: The first step in applying for financial aid is to complete the FAFSA
(Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This application will
make you eligible for Federal, State and University aid. If you do not
have a FAFSA on file, you may still file one but your financial aid
will be limited to Federal and State aid. Once the FAFSA is filed and
all required documents requested by the Office of Financial Aid and
Scholarships are returned, you will be awarded for EAP.
**2011-2012 FAFSA is available Jan. 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012.
**2012-2013 FAFSA is available beginning Jan. 1, 2012 and the
priority filing deadline is March 2, 2012.
When should you complete the FAFSA?
ˇYou must submit a 2012-2013 Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA) to the federal processor. We encourage all applicants
to file the FAFSA electronically at fafsa.ed.gov. Filing electronically
reduces the processing time and the possibility of errors on your
FAFSA. Be sure to list UC Santa Barbara's school code # 001320.
After the FAFSA has been received by UCSB, you should check
your U-Mail account regularly to assure that the Office of
Financial Aid and Scholarships has all required documents. The
