Summary This paper describes our
research into the vascular mechanics of
the coronary artery and plaque. The
three sections describe the determina-
tion of arterial mechanical properties
using intravascular ultrasound (IVUS),
a constitutive relation for the arterial
wall, and finite element method (FEM)
