e present a simplified dual­channel discrimination model with spatio­temporal filters to represent the

visual system contrast sensitivity, and masking based on local spatio­temporal contrast energy. The contras
ensitivity filter parameters of the model were based on previous work. The masking and global sensitivity
h

parameters are calibrated to masking data using brief grating target signals masked by a 700 msec grating wit
he same spatial parameters.
