STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING FACULTY POSITION
UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND
University of Maryland, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in structural engineering,
preferably at the assistant professor level, but appointment at associate
professor rank will be considered. Candidates should demonstrate the ability
to: teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, guide an active
scholarly research program, and obtain funding from competitive external
funding agencies. Of specific interest is expertise that would complement
existing research programs in structural health monitoring, reliability and
bridge engineering. Sustainability related structural engineering issues will be
a plus for the candidate's research and teaching portfolio. All applicants must
hold a PhD in Civil Engineering or a related field by December 2011 for
appointment in fall 2012.
