The Fort Worth Opera, led by General Director and UH
alumnus Darren Keith Woods, has announced its
upcoming First Annual Fort Worth Opera Festival that
begins in May. Among the singers are two graduates of
our School of Music, mezzo-soprano Robynne Redmon,
who will sing Suzuki in Madame Butterfly, and bass-
baritone Kim Josephson, who has the title role in Falstaff.
Darren and Robynne were students of Elena Nikolaidi.
Kim, who is now Professor of Voice at the University of
Oklahoma, studied with Jean Preston.
David Ashley White's The Amarillo Canticles
("Magnificat" and "Nunc dimittis"), for mixed chorus and
organ, was sung during Evensong at York Minster, York,
England, on April 22.
In March, Franz Anton Krager traveled to Udine, Italy to
conduct the Orchestra di Fiati del Conservatorio at the
Conservatorio di Musica "Jacopo Tomadini." Well-known
Italian trombonist, Domenico Lazzaroni was soloist for the
