About the Authors
John Aycock is an assistant professor at the University of Calgary in the Department of Computer
Science. He received a B.Sc. from the University of Calgary, and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the
University of Victoria. He researches computer security and compilers, and conceived and taught
the University's "Computer Viruses and Malware" and "Spam and Spyware" courses.
Nathan Friess is completing his B.Sc. in Computer Science at the University of Calgary. His
research interests include computer security and wireless networking.
