The University of Georgia (UGA) invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean for
Research and Graduate Education in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS). FACS faculty
and students study and apply the principles of design and business, and the sciences and technologies to
develop healthier people and thriving communities through more effective educators and a high-tech global
workforce. More than 70 faculty, 1,400 undergraduates and 200 graduate students are involved in teaching,
research and outreach programs in the fields of child and family development; foods and nutrition; housing
and consumer economics; and textiles, merchandising and interiors.
The Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education (AD) will provide leadership and coordination in
two key areas for the College of Family and Consumer Sciences. The first area of concentration will be in the
research and scholarly activities for the College. The second area is in providing leadership in the support of
