Abstract -- In this paper wireless multipath fields
are modelled using classes of orthogonal func-
tional expansions based on the solutions to the
Helmholtz (wave) equation. These expansions
permit a multipath field--generated by any num-
ber of nearfield, farfield, specular and diffuse mul-
