Franz Anton Krager conducted the opening
concerts for the 2005 Texas Music Festival last
June. The program included works by two living
composers, Rob Smith's "Push for Orchestra"
and Peter Lieuwen's clarinet concerto, "River of
Crystal Light," performed by British clarinetist
David Campbell. The Lieuwen work was
recorded by the 2005 Texas Music Festival
Orchestra to be included on an all
Lieuwen/Krager/Moores School of Music CD to
be released later this year on the Albany Records
label.
In July, Mr. Krager lead the Grosseto Symphony
Orchestra in a series of three concerts in the
Italian cities of Grosseto (Tuscany), Saronno
(Milano), and Gravedona (Lake Como), the latter
serving as the inaugural concert for the 2005
