Constitution November 2005
The Social Work Students' Society (hereinafter referred to as the Society or the SWSS) is a
non-profit student run organization operating out of the University of Regina's Faculty of Social
The SWSS exists as a venue for social work students to gather and pursue common goals
and interests. The SWSS shall have as an over-arching goal the pursuit of positive change, be it at
the Faculty, University, or community level. The overall functioning of the SWSS will be guided
by the principles that guide the social work profession.
- To provide members with opportunities that will allow for greater educational, social/political, and
professional development.
- To work towards the creation of a greater awareness of social work students and social work
professionals within the university and the community.
- To increase awareness and support of social issues among members, the student body at large, and
the greater community.
- To plan and support events which allow students and faulty members to become more cohesive
and connected as a Faculty.
