Paul Sikes' (DMA Music Education
candidate) research "Practice strategies
advocated by secondary music teachers" has
been selected for presentation at the Texas
Music Educators Association 2008 Clinic-
Convention and the 61st
MENC National
Biennial In-Service Conference.
Seven UH students (six
from the Moores School
of Music) were part of a
20-member choir directed
by pop star Kelly Rowland
of Destiny's Child that performed during
NBC's "Clash of the Choirs" competition
which aired Dec. 17 20, 2007. The Houston
choir competed against choirs from other
cities led by musical celebrities including
Michael Bolton, Patti Labelle, Nick Lachey,
