University Centers VIP: Shirley Johnson
Shirley Colbert Johnson, affectionately known as `Ms. Shirley' is a fixture at the University
of Houston for 20 years come September 2011. Ms. Shirley joined the UH family in 1992 in
the Housekeeping Department. In 1996, she joined Campus Activities in what is now known
as Center for Student Involvement, currently serving as Secretary of the Student Government
Association. Her charming personality, comical catch phrases, and matter-of-fact attitude, is
one that has welcomed many students and patrons throughout the years.
More about the University Centers: The University Centers consists of six student-focused
centers, the A.D. Bruce Religion Center, Center for Leadership and Fraternity & Sorority
Life., Center for Student Involvement (CSI), UH Child Care Center, University Center (UC),
and University Center Satellite. The University Centers provide everything you may need
including food, student organizations, child care, leadership development, fraternity and
sorority life, leisure services, graphic services, colleagues in faith, and much more. Let the
University Centers be the "center" of your Campus experiences.
