Wireless Communications Systems Laboratory EEL6936 /
EEL4936 Spring 2009
The objective of this course is to teach students wireless communication concepts through
hands on experiments.
· Basic digital baseband communication through MATLAB simulation
· Understanding SDR capable signal analyzers and generators with enhanced
capabilities
· Wireless communication systems frontend hardware
· Understanding modulation types popularly used in various wireless standards
· Understanding the tools used to quantify the quality of wireless signals:
Spectrum, Time domain, Code domain, Joint time and frequency, EVM, CCDF,
Constellation and, Eye diagrams.
· Multidimensional signal analysis (features of CDMA, Bluetooth, and WLAN
signals )
· Filter effect in wireless communication systems
· Synchronization in wireless communications
· Channel impact in wireless systems
· RF frontend distortions in wireless systems
· Interference Analysis
