The 13th Annual Jazz Festival, featuring the Texas
Music Festival Jazz Project and guest trombonist
Andy Martin performing with the MSM Jazz Or-
chestra, under the direction of Noe Marmolejo and
Ryan Gabbart, took place on February 25 and 26.
Nineteen Texas high school and middle school jazz
bands were adjudicated.
The "Spirit of Houston" Cougar Marching Band,
the Frontiersman, the Cougar Dolls and the Mas-
cots, under the direction of David Bertman, led the
Houston Livestock Show Parade on Saturday, Febru-
ary 26 in downtown Houston.
Derek Fenstermacher (studio of Mark Barton) is a
finalist for the New Jersey Symphony principal tuba
position.
