CHEN 3650 Spring 2012 Course Grading Policy
As per the Auburn University Bulletin, instructors shall determine the policy regarding grading
which they feel is best for the course. This policy shall be presented to the class, in writing, at the
beginning of the term.
In CHEN 3650, your course grade will be determined by proportionally weighting performance
in the following areas:
Exams 30% (2 at 15% each, tentatively scheduled for the weeks of 2/13/12 and 4/02/12)
Final Exam 45% (Scheduled according to University Final Exam Schedule (MWF lecture
class at 9:00 AM))
Homework and Lab Assignments 10%
Quizzes 10%
Project Report 5%
Optional Bonus 5%
Typical Letter Grade Breakpoints employed for all graded material are as follows: A=70%,
B=60%, C=50%, D=45%, F=less than 45%.
The grade breakpoints are determined by applying the Auburn University Bulletin criteria to
each area. The following summarizes the criteria published in the University Bulletin:
A : Superior
B : Good (not Superior)
