University of California First-Year Best Practices Conference

in one of the following areas:

· Engaging First-Year Students in Vibrant Co-curricular Programs
· Developing Academic-based Innovations

As part of our FIPSE (Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education) grant, UC
Riverside is hosting a UC First-Year Best Practices Conference for colleagues from UC
campuses. The conference will provide an opportunity to share ideas, research,
experiences, and strategies aimed at improving student success for new first-year
freshmen and transfer students. Additionally, the conference will spotlight the FIPSE
award winning UCR CHASS Connect first-year learning community model and research
findings.
We invite faculty, staff, and administrators from UC campuses to be a part of this
special opportunity to learn about innovative practices across UC campuses, and the
current research focused on fostering student success among first-year students. The
