Summary: Grading for 6100 Project
Objective Did the authors clearly state their objective? Does the research support this
objective? Does the author sell his/her ideas?
References Do the authors have adequate references (2 or more, many of which are after
2006)? Are the references complete (author, publication, title, volume, page numbers)? Are
the references from respected sources (IEEE or ACM publications or conferences rather
than trade journals or unreferreed publications from web sites)? Are references cited
correctly throughout the report (in the same way that articles cite references)? For each
paragraph, it is clear whether the material is original or a paraphrase of a specific
reference? Are direct quotations of text or figures minimized? If figures are copied from
another source, is the original reference clearly cited for the origin of the figure?
Creativity Does the project incorporate the authors' own opinions or ideas? Will anyone
care what they have done? Are the tests created to generate non-obvious results? Does the
project idea have a possibility of being published (if several more months of work were
added)?
Effort Does the project represent a sufficient amount of effort?
Clarity/Focus Is the work clearly focused on a reasonable topic? Is the explanation clear?
Is the work structured into easily understood sections and hierarchical subsections? Is the
structure of the paper clear?
Experimental Results Has a program been provided to enhance the understanding and
