ABSTRACT --- The paper presents algo­
rithms for the extraction of image features
which are invariant with respect to the action
of a transformation group on the image data.
We focus on the parallelization of these algo­
rithms. The occuring data dependencies are
typical for a whole class of algorithms. The re­
sulting communication demands can be char­
acterized by a set of parameters. According to
the values of these parameters it is possible to
find well suited topologies for the communica­
tion network. We analyze embeddings of these
topologies into a fixed network structure and
