Changing career thanks to a doctorate
Glenn first qualified as an accountant in the UK and went on to complete
an MBA at the Polytechnic of North London. He then spent seven years
working as a manager for the provincial government in Alberta, Canada
before returning to the UK for his postgraduate studies at the University
of Southampton. Glenn spent six and a half years in part-time study
leading to an MPhil in Management Information Systems, later converted
to a PhD in the USA. His thesis covered the applied use of Forcefield
Analysis within the Petrochemical sector. He is now a Fellow of the
Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and an Academic Fellow of
the Association of International Accountants.
Glenn's research supervisors at Southampton were Dr Jonathan Klein and
Dr Con Connell. "I consider myself lucky to have worked with such
knowledgeable, encouraging and inspiring mentors," he says. "In my
opinion, they were both first class and pivotal in helping my career
development towards a successful management consulting business."
