Everyone depends on Earth's ecosystems and their life-sustaining benefits, such as clean air, fresh water and
healthy soils. Founded in 2000, the Cri.cal Ecosystem Partnership Fund is a global leader in enabling civil

CEPF provides grants for nongovernmental and private sector organiza.ons to help protect biodiversity
hotspots, Earth's most biologically rich yet threatened areas.
The Cri.cal Ecosystem Partnership Fund is a joint ini.a.ve of l'Agence Française de Développement,
Conserva.on Interna.onal, the Global Environment Facility, the Government of Japan, the John D. and
Catherine T. MacArthur Founda.on, and the World Bank.
