Tumor necrosis factor a (TNF-a) is a multifunctional cyto-
kine that acts as a central biological mediator for critical
immune functions, including inflammation, infection, and
antitumor responses.[1]
Dysregulation of TNF-a has been
implicated in cases of tumorigenesis, diabetes, and especially
in autoinflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis,
psoriatic arthritis, and Crohns disease.[2]
