Throughout 2011 the University of Regina celebrated 100 Years of Excellence
in Education. In 1911, the cornerstone was laid and a small high school was
established by the Methodist Church it was known as the Regina College
which eventually became the Regina Campus of the University of
Saskatchewan. The 1960s saw the creation of a new and larger campus and
by 1974, a milestone was reached the University of Regina became a degree-
granting institution. This past year was one of reflection of how far the
University has come to where it is today the Founders' dinner, President's
Gala, Alumni Homecoming Weekend and University of Regina Day were a few
key events to recognize the University's roots.
We continue to realize the goals set forth in our Strategic Plan,
mâmawohkamâtowin: Our Work, Our People, Our Communities, by working
toward and responding to the needs and aspirations of our students, our people
and our communities. We are a university that excels in teaching, research and
public service.
In 2012, we look to our future, a future of authentic, open engagement,
diversification and to strengthening our partnerships locally, nationally and
