The Institute for Practical Ethics and Public Life at UVA
Faculty Fellowships for Courses in Ethics or
for Integrating Ethics into Other Subjects
Thanks to a generous gift from the Richard D. Donchian Foundation, the Institute for
Practical Ethics and Public Life (IPE) announces fellowships to enable UVA faculty to
(1) develop new courses or enhance existing courses devoted to ethics, or
(2) integrate ethical analysis and reasoning into existing or new courses that
address other topics.
Hence, proposed courses may focus specifically on ethics or incorporate ethics into other
subject matter, such as genetics, history, or education. The IPE expects to offer as many
as four fellowships in 2010; these are open to faculty across the University.
