Canada's Law and Order Agenda:
Tough on Crime?

The Elizabeth Fry Society of Saskatchewan and the Social Policy Research Unit (SPR),
University of Regina are hosting a public forum to highlight the increasing criminalization
of marginalized peoples, in particular, aboriginal women and those with physical and
mental health challenges.
Recent changes to the Criminal Code of Canada and the Youth Criminal Justice Act will
imprison more people for longer times. The forum will explore the impact of the changes
on recidivism, deterrence, rehabilitation, and those most likely to be affected.
