Eve Riskin's draft of the College's presentation to ABET for the Dec. 3rd
8:00 am meeting
Some suggestions from ACI for the presentation were: indicate that statistics are only for CoE and don't include PSE;
admissions statistics and levels of admittance; information on underrepresented minorities; recruitment; community
college relationships; engineering open house; visiting committee; increased interest in undergraduate research; and
industry donations.
Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS)
Richard Storch reported that IndE's PEV noticed from the transcripts that in some instances the prerequisite for a
course had not been taken. IndE relies on DARS and has no way of checking if DARS allows students to register for
a course without proper prerequisites. Departments need to be sure that their course prerequisites are in force.
