September 8, 2011 CONSTRUCTION NOTICE Old Jordan Hall HVAC Project

Summary: September 8, 2011
CONSTRUCTION NOTICE Old Jordan Hall HVAC Project

Re: Remove Existing Individual Lab Exhaust fans & Tie lab exhaust back into the new up blast
exhaust system

Exhaust Fans will be disconnected and removed in groups of approximately 16 at a time.
General Note: There are over 200 individual lab exhaust fans on the roof of Jordan Hall. It will
take until December to remove all of these fans in groups of 16 at a time and put them on the
new exhaust system.
We expect to do a group of 16 fans each week until completed in December.

Each group of 16 exhaust fans will be off line for one full week.
This one week duration is due to the requirements of removing and replacing the ductwork in
the shaft for each system as well as the work required on the roof for each group of fans.

All chemicals must be removed from the impacted lab fume hoods prior to the start of work on
Monday, September 19.
On the ending Monday morning, (September 26, ) DPR will turn over all Lab Hood Exhaust
systems to the University's EH&S Group for recertification.
