The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) aspires to be Canada's premier small,
research-intensive university, with internationally recognized academic and research programs
that prepare its graduates in select areas of relevance to the region, province, and beyond. The
University, located in Prince George, has garnered significant recognition for its successes, including
being ranked third in the annual Maclean's Magazine survey, and being named one of Canada's
Research Universities of the Year.
With a beautiful site in the hills overlooking this central BC city of 80,000, its stunning architecture,
and state of the art teaching and learning facilities, the University of Northern British Columbia is
poised for a period of growth and innovation. Its 4,276 students are engaged in a variety of studies,
from arts and sciences to forestry, nursing, management, and now medicine with the Northern
Medical Program. The University prides itself on reaching outside of its core campus and offers
many programs in regional centers throughout northern BC.
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Senior Human Resources Advisor is responsible
for delivery of a full range of human resource services to the University. The Advisor works with
the Director in supporting the university leadership with the development of long-term human
resource planning support, succession planning, learning, and retention of staff to make UNBC a
desired employer.
