Justin Smith's article "Grand Oratorio with a
Social Conscience: Marc Blitzstein's This is
the Garden" will be published in the February
2009 issue of Choral Journal.
DMA student Melissa Givens and pianist
Timothy Hester will perform with the
Houston Baptist University's Schola Cantorum
on February 7, 7:30 pm as part of CANTARE
Houston's presentation of Mendelssohn and
his Milieu at the Belin Chapel, Houston Baptist
University. Jeffrey Sposato will present a
pre-concert lecture at 6:30 pm.
DMA student Akiko Konishi will perform
with the Symphony North of Houston under
the direction of Reynaldo Ochoa on February
8, 4 pm at the Northwood Presbyterian Church.
