What is CURO?
The Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities (CURO) provides opportunities for undergraduate
students to earn academic credit by cooperatively engaging in research with premier research faculty.
Any undergraduate student with a minimum 3.4 cumulative GPA may apply for Honors research through
Honors research courses (4960H, 4970H, 4980H and 4990H) are available within most academic fields,
such as Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences.
The Biomedical and Health Sciences Institute and Engineering (BHSI and ENGR) are now offering CURO
research courses (4960, 4970, 4980 and 4990) for students with support of a faculty mentor. For more

Please attend one of our CURO Information Sessions (see back for schedule). Be sure to contact
Matt Jordan to reserve a seat, as space is limited.
Determine your research interests. Search the UGA website and department websites,
according to major or interests, for possible mentors and/or current research projects.
Tips for finding and contacting a potential faculty mentor are available on the web, at
